contact Welcome, Friends, to this website. Whether you are a promoter who has been directed here for a copy of a biography, or photographs for programming and publicity purposes, or if you're a concert and theatre-goer doing a bit of a websurf, I hope you will find something useful on these pages!

Having had a lovely summer singing with the Gabrielis and La Serenissima in Festivals in Spain and the UK, I've just returned from Poland where I sang Brahms' Deutsches Requiem, directed by Paul McCreesh, for the first time. It was a truly wonderful experience.

The next few months see my return to the Guildhall School of Music where I'll be working with postgraduate and 4th year degree students on Classical performance practice. I'm also very pleased to be teaching the mezzo-soprano Emily Steventon, who is entering her first year on the Opera Course.

There are performances of Vivaldi with La Serenissima in the north-west of England, a tour of Scotland featuring Italian and Scottish repertoire with the wonderful Alison McGillivray and David (twinkle-fingers) McGuinness, concerts in the north-east with the Avison Ensemble, and then across the pond to the USA where Mark Morris is reprising his production of 'King Arthur' at New York City Opera.

As always, if you get to any of these events please clap loudly!

With best wishes

Mhairi Lawson xx
